Reader There have been a lot of new subscribers joining the library. Welcome! A couple of things to know. One, if you see a record with missing data, I am always on the hunt to fill in the blanks. The "suggest an edit" field is your opportunity to make the library even better by helping me fill in the blanks. This is especially important on older sets that are getting harder to find good data on. Two, curate your own collection in the "my models" and "my wishlist" sections. Choose the $8 per...

Reader Been a little while since we spoke and WOW, the diecast hits keep coming. This month alone there have been various owner-operator and company sets released all with Wilson grain trailers. 5,544 to be exact. If you need a grain trailer you won't have trouble finding one. I've mentioned before these sets seem to come in waves. 2023 has been dominated by Peterbilts with double or single-round headlights and buckets of lowboy trailers. I will bet good money you will see 379 Petes with...

Reader, First things first, the library now has 4,600 DCP sets! Mostly new releases are the primary reason. However, I still come across old runs that have been added and a few members of the library has submitted missing runs as well, THANK YOU! New tooling. DCP just announced a 379/89 sleeper without sleeper fairings. That is a nice variation. Right now customizers have to cut them off with some sort of tool and do bodywork to get that look. I suspect collectors will be seeing producers...

Reader, It's been a minute since you have been updated about the library. The first big news is new tooling. I have been told that Chad Weber's Toys has created new trailers: the East Genesis II Michigan 31' & 20' End Dumps, which is pretty cool. Not gonna lie, this flat lander has not seen this style of trailer in person before. Either way, seeing new stuff being created for collectors is cool. At the moment, it looks like 12 different runs were done with Pete and KW tractors. Next, rather...

Reader, Its almost old news a day after the announcement. If you have not heard, DCP is brining the The Happy Toys White/Western Star (aka Green Goblin), from the movie Maximum Overdrive to life. If you want one, DCP and dealers all over the web are taking preorders now. If you want to guarantee you get one, find a dealer soon and get your order in. This begs the question, how does new tooling get to market. As I understand it happens two basic ways. The first is DCP gins up the money to pay...

Reader, I thought I would feature a producer in this update. A producer is someone that brings DCP truck runs to market. Either for themselves, to go to the dealer network or both. Gabe Fleener, aka Fleener's DCP and 1981 Gabe sells on eBay and on Facebook. To date, the Diecast Library has identified over 90 runs of Gabe's which is pretty cool. Supposedly, there are 130 runs on his resume so we are getting close to having one producer current. Why is this important? I have found that people...

Reader, It is so much fun to find new data. Especially on older runs. There was a company called Jaydeez that sold diecast in the 90s and 2000s. The website is still live if you can believe that and has 100+ old runs still listed with the prices. I added all that data to the library. There is a fellow named Bruno Cerri that did 100+?? runs in the 2000s with the name Toy Trucks N Stuff. I have been able to match him to some of his runs. Another producer David Beasley of Toy Trucking has been...

Reader, If you like chrome and reefers there are 10 different runs coming this spring and they are in the library. I've mentioned before it seems these runs come in waves. For awhile it was 9 light roof caps, then lowboys, now reefers. It is curious how this happens as different people are doing the runs. Either way it means trucks are being produced and that is a good thing for collectors. Several older runs were added along with all the new runs. The "add a photo" feature in the library was...

Reader, Was a great few weeks for research. DCP/First Gear has 3 new runs. Mc-2 Toys has 4 new runs, connected with Jaden Lindamood (also a library member) and updated the 4 runs he has done. Then a member reached out and we updated the Iowa FFA series and added missing numbers. Finally, Sugar River Diecast has 3 new runs. Whew. Let's talk photos. I have been receiving better photos for some of the records. As of this moment I am giving photo credit to the contributor. If a person clicks on a...
